The role:
As a Buyer – MRO Mechanical Consumables and Spares, you will help drive our goals by:
- Deliver full-year savings and cash flow targets for Mechanical items/consumables/spares.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build a robust savings pipeline and deliver sustainable, year-on-year productivity improvements.
- Investigate and analyse demand management data to create accurate forecasts that support effective sourcing and tendering strategies.
- Actively manage spend within the category, ensuring strong governance and compliance with procurement processes.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional and Capex teams to maximize value delivery.
Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 5 years in Engineering or Maintenance teams and MRO Mechanical procurement within sectors like Steel, Automotive Tier 1, or Chemical industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), ERP systems such as SAP, and e-procurement tools.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management, contract negotiations, and end-to-end sourcing project execution.
- Proven ability to perform detailed PO-level analysis to identify savings;
- Willingness to travel in Europe up to 30%.
