The Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Tulane University Health Sciences Center invites applications for a Pulmonary Scientist faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor. The candidate’s research program will build upon current strengths in ongoing basic and translational research programs. The candidate must have a history of NIH funding and expertise in lung regenerative biology. Tulane University has a rich collaborative environment that complements our interdisciplinary Tulane Lung Biology Research Program, and hosts a vibrant biomedical sciences community that includes the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, National Primate Research Center, and several Centers of Excellence for research on Cancer, Gene Therapy, Hypertension and Renal Biology, Infectious Diseases, Aging, Cardiovascular Disease, Biomedical Engineering, and Women’s Health.
Terminal Degree (PhD/MD/DVM, etc.)
A minimum of 7 years of research experience in a relevant field (or area) post terminal degree completion.
Experience in the area of allergic diseases including asthma and other eosinophil associated diseases.
Lung function measurements in experimental models and conducting translational research with publication evidences.
A detailed knowledge of molecular biology including flow cytometer techniques supported by the evidence of publications.
Technical skills and competencies to conduct quantifiable, meaningful research
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds at all levels internal and external to the organization
Ability to work collaboratively as a positive, contributing member of a team
Ability to keyboard and utilize various standardized word processing, spreadsheet preparation, and presentation software.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Ability to prioritize work, performing assignments with minimal supervision.
Grant writing skills with evidences.
