Duties: Lead design projects related to structural, electrical, and hydraulic systems for waste handling and recycling equipment. Design projects related to improving existing designs and development activities to design new equipment and systems. Lead the development of project plans, timelines, deliverables, and quality plans, adhering to the APQP process. Design and detail electrical/hydraulic circuits and select components to meet customer expectations. Coordinate and conduct design verification testing at component, subsystem, and system level. Ensure that designs adhere to industry quality and safety standards and that risk analysis documentation is maintained in support of these standards. Work with product management and manufacturing to maintain and prioritize a list of development and enhancement projects to improve customer value and reduce internal cost to achieve revenue targets. Assist product management in developing and maintaining product generation plans which support future market trends to ensure that core products meet the needs of the target market segment. Assist in the management of corporate intellectual property by managing the patent process as a critical portion of product development. Assist with new supplier development efforts in conjunction with cost, quality or technology improvements that support new core products and core product enhancements. Supervises five (5) employees.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the design of systems for waste handling and recycling equipment.
Must have five (5) years of experience in all of the following:
Telecommuting permitted up to one (1) day per week. International travel required up to 2%. Domestic travel required up to 5%.
