Front Desk Assistant - Student Position

Job Description

The NDG Student Assistant is the welcoming, professional face of our division that provides hospitality to guests and visitors at Notre Dame Global.

General position responsibilities include:

  • Covering the front reception desk by greeting guests, including assessing guest needs and providing direction
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Assisting with a variety of administrative tasks including making copies, campus deliveries, and organizing office areas and supplies
  • Assisting staff and faculty with short and long-term projects
  • Distribution of ISSA and Study Abroad documents
  • Collaboration with other departments within the Main Building

To elaborate, student assistants may work with staff and faculty, both on campus and remotely. This includes working with colleagues at our global locations and may include additional tasks such as data gathering and analysis, copywriting, editing, event support, accompanying guests across campus, social media posting, as well as other tasks. Additionally, student assistants may have collaboration opportunities with other departments within the Main Building.

  • Office of Community Standards
  • University Enterprises and Events
  • Office of Student Affairs
  • Office of General Counsel
  • Office of the Provost
  • President’s Office

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills. It is important to be comfortable greeting guests, engaging with people both in-person and virtually, and interacting with faculty, staff, University executive staff, international students and scholars, and international delegations from other universities, consulates, and embassies. Occasionally, student assistants will be tasked with providing brief campus tours for our visitors.

Candidates must be dependable to work their assigned shifts. Adherence to the agreed upon schedule is mandatory.

Candidates must be proficient in using Google, Microsoft and Adobe (Adobe Acrobat) suite of products, as well as using social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn).

Preferred Qualifications

Desired skills but not required:

Canva, Video/Photo editing, non-English language skills (speaking, writing, reading, interpreting).
