We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V-280 Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX. Relocation assistance is available for domestic moves only. International relocation support is not available.

Aircraft Environmental Control System Engineers (across multiple levels)

Bring your experience and ideas and help us develop heating and cooling systems for personnel and equipment on manned and optionally manned aircraft. You’ll work with customer and hardware requirements to create analysis and simulations to inform system and component needs. This role will be an integral part of the team, working closely the customer, other IPTs, and subcontractors. You’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on significant engineering problems, all while gaining experience in leadership and communication.

What you’ll be doing as an Environmental Control System Engineer:

  • Identify and document component & system requirements, create system specifications and statements of work, and coordinate system interfaces.
  • Conduct thermal analysis and develop design solutions for ECS systems and integrate these designs into the aircraft.
  • Work closely with other teams to complete design trade studies to optimize the system key performance parameters.
  • Manage component supplier activities to include design, documentation, and qualification.
  • Support aircraft flight test activities with troubleshooting, data reduction, and creation of test reports.

Qualifications

Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • Solid understanding of the relationship between requirements, design solutions, and successful qualification.
  • Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a team player mindset.
  • Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

What you need to be successful:

  • At least 2 years of previous work experience performing thermal analysis of fluid systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
  • Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered
