We are currently expanding our Electrical team, which plays a key role in supporting the sector. Some of our largest clients include National Highways, Transport Scotland, the Welsh Government, and various local authorities. We also contribute to some of the world’s most significant projects, such as the King Salman International Airport.

Your responsibilities:

We are looking to appoint an experienced Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or Traffic Signal Engineer to deliver our transportation projects as part of international team.

  • Design and develop ITS solutions, including traffic motorway systems (CCTV, message signs etc) or urban traffic signals (including MOVA, UTC knowledge)
  • Liaising with clients and with other Jacobs teams to support growth
  • Management of the resource input to projects, including forecasting and coordinating delivery to programme and budget
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and Jacobs’ Health and Safety culture

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Energy Engineering (or similar)
  • At least 10 years of experience of delivering ITS designs or related roles within transportation engineering
  • Knowledge of EU, IEC and,National Highways standards/requirements
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including professional proficiency in English (C1 level)
  • Proficiency in CAD, MicroStation, or REVIT software for ITS design and documentation

The following would be beneficial but not as necessary:

  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary projects e.g. with structures; highways teams etc
  • Knowledge of local authority standards
  • Experience working in international project execution
  • Professional Membership of a recognised industry Institute / Institution
