Overview

The Supply Chain Engineer I -Innovation and Supplier Management will manage the development of engineering analysis and projects to deliver ongoing continuous improvement and solve supply chain problems in warehousing, transload, cross-dock, and transportation operations. Provides regular and proactive communications to NFI management. The successful candidate will possess engineering technical skills combined with demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • As part of our engineering career path progression, the SCE I level is the engineering progression starting/entry level for a recent graduate from a BS Industrial Engineering university level program.
  • Leads the successful completion of engineering projects and analysis applying industrial engineering methodologies, engineering supply chain methods, and engineering tools
  • Identifies process gaps and recommends and implements process improvement
  • Establishes and implements performance KPIs, measures, and data analytics. Leads with data.
  • Leads ongoing proactive continuous improvement for NFI working with operations and the customer
  • Makes engineering design and supply chain strategy recommendations
  • Effectively interacts with NFI engineering leadership and NFI operational leaders
  • Confers with engineering and operations managers to implement efficient and optimized solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Business Degree is required. BS Industrial Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Effective Interpersonal and Communications skills
  • Data management and manipulation skills. Programming skills to manipulate large data-sets
  • Database skills, especially through SQL, Access, or Alteryx
  • Knowledge and education of warehousing operations and transportation operations
  • Knowledge and education in time & motion study industrial engineering methodologies
  • Formal education and training in linear mixed integer programming and simulation
  • Travel: up to 20% (based on needs of the business and project schedules)

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities or community
  • Lean Six Sigma credentials or certifications
  • Experience with routing and scheduling packages and transportation optimization software
  • Experience with facility layout, MHE, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS) tools
  • Knowledge in: VBA, Python, R, MATLAB, Java, C++, or C# is a major plus
  • Willingness to relocate for career advancement
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency and skill set working with industrial engineering methodologies and tools to solve supply chain problems.
  • Required location to be based in one of NFI’s regional offices: Camden, NJ / Irving, TX / Chicago, IL

We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $70,000.-$75,000. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 8%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
