DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Programmatic Media Department is a fast-paced, highly specialized team dedicated to the automated buying and optimization of digital advertising inventory. Utilizing advanced technology and data-driven strategies, this department ensures efficient and effective media placements across various digital platforms. Key functions include real-time media buying through demand-side platforms (DSPs), continuous campaign optimization, detailed data analysis and reporting, and collaboration with brand teams and clients to align programmatic strategies with overall marketing objectives. The department also focuses on maintaining strong relationships with media partners, staying updated on industry trends, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Programmatic Media Buyer is responsible for negotiating, activating, and maintaining programmatic media buys on behalf of our clients. Buyers work collaboratively across departments such as finance and client partnerships and manage a series of regular client deliverables. Additionally, this role supports Associates and Senior Buyers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop relationships with programmatic media partners to effectively negotiate pricing and media plans that achieve internal and client objectives across multiple accounts.
  • Work closely with brand teams/clients to complete buying responsibilities such as stewardship and posting.
  • Manage buying and optimization of programmatic media campaigns for Evergreen Trading’s portfolio, integrating trade as part of innovative media plans.
  • Document and share optimization results and insights to continuously refine our strategies.
  • Collaborate with brand, client, and media trading teams to align programmatic media strategies with client goals, utilizing premium media placements and partnerships.
  • Prepare and update marketplace overviews, which may include in-depth overviews of existing/emerging vendors, industry and landscape updates.
  • Attend agency meetings including vendor and client as needed.
  • Train, mentor, and oversee Assistant Programmatic Media Buyers.
  • Assist in the management of added value executions.
  • Research and provide POV’s on advertising/media trends.
  • Support Senior Buyers with responsibilities and upfront processes.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience with the ability to train others.
  • Detail oriented and able to proofread documents for accuracy.
  • Work well in a team setting, manage up, and delegate/oversee Assistant Buyer workload
  • In-depth knowledge of media math, terminology, and buying processes and concepts.
  • Understanding of programmatic media ecosystem and the tools required to navigate it (DSPs, ad-servers, fraud prevention, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to integrate and work successfully with various agency teams, handle multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in mentoring or guiding junior team members is a plus.

  • Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000

The above represents the expected base salary range for this role. Exact compensation is determined by level of experience, location, and other job-related factors.
