The Internal Controls Lead will partner with the business, finance, IT and multi-channel teams across the JD Group to enhance the quality of the controls environment. This leader will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line’s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the controls managers in partnering with the business to identify improvements in controls and ensure control deficiencies are tracked and remediated in agreed timelines.
  • Participate in internal controls, internal audit, or other special Business and IT led projects.
  • Support the end-to-end internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) program.
  • Lead the tracking and reporting of ICFR control deficiencies.
  • Document key financial processes end-to-end, identifying risks and controls and creating a suitable controls matrix and process flow chart.
  • Support the rollout of the internal controls framework to new acquisitions in the JD Group.
  • Serve as a key point of contact with external auditors on information requested in conjunction with the annual audit.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with a focus in accounting.
  • CPA and/or CIA license is preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years of experience in internal audit/controls and/or public accounting.
  • Audit experience, preferably controls-testing focus.
  • Exposure to and an effective understanding of internal controls over financial reporting controls.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
  • An understanding of IT systems and operation will be helpful.
  • Experience with large ERP systems preferred.

Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Intermediate to advanced abilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; working knowledge of IT systems and operations.
