What to expect:
- Assist with month-end close including bank and credit card reconciliations, balance sheet roll forwards, posting journal entries for prepaid expenses/accrued expenses/payroll/revenue recognition, etc.
- Assist team members with ad-hoc specialty projects on emerging issues (think CARES Act, new technology, new accounting standards, etc.)
- Assist team members staffed on interim controller/CFO/outsourced accounting projects
- Research third party solutions for client pain points, tedious tasks and or manual work that is performed outside of the accounting system. Work with Business Advisory team members to develop pertinent Key Performance Indicators for businesses, set targets, monitor progress
- Collaborate with experienced professionals on multiple assignments and develop relationships internally at Wiss
What we are looking for:
- Working towards a BA/BS degree or equivalent from an accredited university
- Must be able to work 3 days/week during the intern cycle (on-site required)
- Candidates should be highly motivated, possess a critical-thinking and problem-solving mindset, and be team players who possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Candidates must have a general understanding of Excel and Word
- Desired Characteristics:
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Accounting, Taxation, Finance or Business Administration major
- Graduating within the next 2 years with 150 credits
