Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Plumbing Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to design, installation, and maintenance of plumbing systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a plumbing engineer with a passion for large-scale infrastructure projects to contribute to the success of a high-profile airfield development. The role requires a detail-oriented, collaborative individual who can ensure plumbing systems meet project goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist in designing and developing plumbing systems for the ATCT airfield project, including water supply, drainage, and sewage systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications, plumbing diagrams, and detailed design calculations for the plumbing systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure plumbing systems meet the design standards and project specifications.
  • Work with project teams to integrate plumbing systems into the overall airfield infrastructure.
  • Assist in coordinating with contractors to ensure that plumbing systems are installed according to design specifications.
  • Participate in site inspections, identifying potential issues and providing solutions to ensure plumbing systems are installed and functional.
  • Ensure all plumbing designs comply with relevant plumbing codes, safety regulations, and local requirements (e.g., NFPA, ASPE, local building codes).
  • Conduct design reviews and suggest updates or modifications to meet evolving regulatory or project requirements.
  • Monitor the installation and commissioning of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for plumbing systems, including design drawings, specifications, and test results.
  • Support the creation of regular reports detailing plumbing system installation progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Assist with preparing reports for stakeholders, including management and contractors, to communicate progress and address issues.
  • Assist in the testing, inspection, and commissioning of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure that plumbing systems are functioning as designed and meet the expected standards.
  • Identify issues during inspections and assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of water-efficient plumbing systems in line with sustainability goals for the project.
  • Help identify and incorporate innovative plumbing solutions that improve system performance and reduce water usage.
  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems within the broader project.
  • Provide technical support during the installation, testing, and maintenance phases, assisting with any on-site issues that arise.
  • Support senior engineers and management by providing insights into project progress and mechanical challenges.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing engineering, preferably with involvement in large-scale infrastructure or airfield projects.
  • Experience in the design and installation of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and sewage systems.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing design principles, codes, and industry best practices (e.g., ASPE, NFPA, local building codes).
  • Proficiency in plumbing design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and basic engineering analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve plumbing-related issues on-site.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and collaboration with contractors and team members.
  • LEED certification, plumbing engineering certifications (e.g., CPD, PMP) are a plus.
  • Experience with plumbing systems in airport or airfield-related projects is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of sustainable plumbing practices and water conservation solutions.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and advanced plumbing design tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in plumbing system design and implementation.
