The Senior Electronics Engineer will be responsible for electronic design, layout and testing of optoelectronic sensors for Authentication Technologies programs for the Fine Chemicals business. The position will be located in Ft Washington, PA.
Authentication Technologies (AT) is part of the Fine Chemicals business unit and is a leader in the development of Authentication solutions for banknotes, coins, high value documents and materials packaging.
This is an opportunity for an engineer to lead the electronics design of optoelectronic sensor products. This includes high reliability designs that need to operate in difficult environments. The designs are mixtures of low noise analog circuits coupled to digital interfaces and laser optical source drivers. Work includes low EMI and EMC designs and layouts. Significant hands-on efforts are required with good data capture abilities. Many of the sensors are incorporated into customer machines, so the ability to resolve specification issues is important.
This engineer will be expected to work on a team to develop new concepts, develop intellectual property, support new project proposals, assess competitive technologies and products, and develop new technologies for future products. This will include understanding customer requirements, translating those into device and product requirements, performing trade studies, writing research and development proposals, project cost estimating, budgeting, and program management. The engineer must be technically creative, have strong organizational and communication skills, and able to work in a collaborative environment.
