1st Shift Welder/Fabricator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our team on the 1st shift (7:00am-3:30pm). The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding processes and a strong understanding of engineering blueprints. This role requires a commitment to safety and precision in all tasks performed.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding processes, including Gas Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Shielded Metal Arc, and TIG welding, adhering to outlined procedures.
• Ensure welds are cleaned and inspected for quality and precision.
• Analyze engineering blueprints to plan, layout, position, and secure parts or assemblies using proper welding procedures.
• Shape and dress metal parts during fabrication.
• Safely and effectively utilize trade tools such as grinders, tape measures, torches, plasma cutting equipment, saws, calipers, and other precision tools while wearing required PPE at all times.

Essential Skills

• 2+ Years of Welding Experience or Welding Schooling
• Proficiency in Blueprint Reading
• Ability to Read Tape Measures and Perform Basic Shop Math
• Experience Welding out of Position/Overhead
• Uphill/Downhill Welding

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic welding aptitude and knowledge
• Technical degree or relevant work experience preferred
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting weld procedures
• Ability to complete a pre-employment drug screening and physical evaluation
• Ability to wear, utilize, and facilitate the use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Work Environment

The work environment includes both hot and cold conditions typical of the steel industry. You will get dirty, and must be comfortable working in these conditions while adhering to all safety protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
