Job Title: Aluminum Sheet Metal Welder

Job Description

Join our team as an Aluminum Sheet Metal Welder where you will play a crucial role in fabricating panels that are integral to our projects. Your primary responsibility will be welding aluminum sheet metal to create larger panels, which are then delivered to clients for use on commercial buildings. This position involves using micrometers and measuring tools, reading and interpreting blueprints, and performing MIG welding on aluminum.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on aluminum sheet metal to assemble larger panels.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Utilize micrometers and measuring tools to maintain precision.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication department as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining production flow in the welding department.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in MIG welding.
  • 6+ years of experience in welding aluminum.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with TIG welding is beneficial.
  • Understanding of fabrication processes.

Work Environment

Work in a leading aluminum composite fabricating company that builds panels for commercial buildings, including prestigious projects like the U of I Children's Hospital. The facility has roughly 110 employees, operates on a first shift from 5am-2:30pm with flexibility for later starts, and minimal weekend work. Dress code includes jeans, shorts, t-shirt, and steel-toed shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
