POSITION TITLE: Process Engineer

DIVISION OR CORPORATE FUNCTION: DSS

LOCATION: Hung Yen/ Hanoi, Vietnam

CONTACTS: Production Department, QC, PC

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Develop processes for new products and continuously improve processes for mass production.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop processes to set up new production lines and launch new products:

  • Design processes, workflows, and PFMEA for products.
  • Collaborate with machine and tooling engineers to review machine and jig tool designs.
  • Work with machine engineers to conduct trial processes for new machines and jig tools, and set up transfer lines.
  • Create detailed requirements and collaborate with external suppliers to design machine jigs and tools for new products.
  • Develop operation instructions for production lines and machine setting condition documents.
  • Prepare for mass trial runs and ensure machine readiness for mass production. Continuously follow up on production feedback after mass production begins.
  • Apply Engineering Change Notices (ECN) to machine designs.
  • Research and study new technologies to apply in production machines and equipment.

2. Troubleshoot and solve issues related to quality and technical problems due to machines and jig tool assemblies on production lines during the trial and pre-mass production phases:

  • Troubleshoot to ensure the proper operation of equipment and machines.
  • Diagnose and analyze troubles and errors arising on production lines.
  • Address customer claims related to the production process.

3. Continuously improve quality, productivity, and reduce production costs:

  • Collaborate with machine engineers, production, and quality teams to enhance the capability, ability, and performance of current mass production equipment, machines, and lines.
  • Provide feedback on new product process designs to address current chronic issues (quality and productivity) related to processes.

4. Support suppliers in resolving issues during the setup or trial of new processes.

5. Clearly understand personal and section goals to contribute to achieving quality and delivery objectives.

6. Ensure compliance with rules, procedures, and requirements regarding:

  • 6S & KAIZEN
  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • EICC & Social Responsibility
  • Protection of company assets

7. Support and contribute to Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, ISO, and Environmental and Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

SCOPE:

EDUCATION:

  • REQUIRED: University degree
  • PREFERRED: Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • REQUIRED: At least 3 years of experience
  • PREFERRED: Experience in a manufacturing company with full process involvement from stamping, plating, molding, and semi-auto assembly line, in roles such as process engineering or equivalent

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • REQUIRED:

1. Ability to read technical drawings

2. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes

3. Proficiency in CAD (NX, etc.)

4. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

5. English language proficiency (Chinese is an advantage)

6. Confidentiality, initiative, accountability, carefulness, and honesty

7. Willingness to learn and share knowledge

8. Good communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

9. Hardworking and able to work overtime when needed

  • PREFERRED: Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
