Our client in Austin is on the leading edge of semiconductor process technology and they have an immediate opening for a Sr. Electrical Engineer. The person in this position will be designing electrical components and systems for new semiconductor manufacturing tools. This is a direct hire, full time permanent position. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Utilize electrical CAD software to conceptualize and design wiring diagrams for multiple systems on prototype semiconductor tools using schematic capture and layout for PCB
  • Efficiently integrate multiple systems including power distribution, sensors, motion, analog, digital, amplifier design, embedded design, PLC’s, etc. C language and PSoC understanding is desirable
  • Develop and document build / test procedures: manuals, test documents, test fixtures, and prototypes
  • Work with other teams to understand their technical problems and how they interact/impact electrical design considerations
  • Communicate project status to appropriate parties as required
  • Working in a cleanroom environment required
  • Normal business hours are M-F, ~8 am – 5 pm with ~90% time in office expected

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering and 2-10 years of experience in electrical design for semiconductor equipment, precision motion, robotics or other similar functions is preferred; non-degreed candidates with the right experience will also be considered.
  • Experience using electrical CAD software such as Altium or OrCAD; PCB design experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor equipment PLM and engineering database such as Agile is preferred
  • Broad experience in electrical design preferred; must be willing and able to design, integrate, test and document multiple systems with initiative. A self-starter is required for the pace of the work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; along with the ability to learn quickly
