Summit Funding Group, Inc. is an equipment financing company located in Mason, Ohio. Summit has an immediate opening for a positive, results-driven individual to join our Customer Service and Collections team. The position will be full-time, Monday through Friday, with an opportunity for advancement.

The ideal candidate will handle incoming calls from a portfolio of business to business customers with questions regarding lease contracts, payoff, making payments, taxes, and the like.

As a Consumer Service Representative, it is important that you are personable, positive and able to remain friendly and engaged during calls. At the same time, you should also display an assertive personality and be motivated by a competitive nature. The Consumer Service Representative position will require you to be self-motivated and career-minded, with a strong work ethic.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Researching and resolving customer concerns regarding lease contracts.
  • Timely responding to incoming emails and phone calls from customers.
  • Working collaboratively with legal, accounting and other departments as may be required.
  • Recording accurate and detailed notes in system; updating customer account status.
  • Collecting past due invoices.
  • Generating 30 and 60 day past due letters to Customers.
  • Making outbound calls as required for light collections, such as a 10-day reminder call.
  • Contacting customers to discuss delinquent accounts and negotiating payment.
  • Other reasonable duties, as may be determined by the Collections Manager.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the same job
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Punctual
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Should be customer service driven
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Able to multi-task

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with customer interaction
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • B.A. or some college
  • Knowledge of Aspire and/or Lease Plus
  • Knowledge of leasing and/or mortgage industries preferred

Level of Complexity and Scope

  • Follows established procedures and guidelines to accurately maintain the organization's financial records and transactions.

Degree of Independence and Decision-Making

  • Ability to handle the standard Customer Service and Collections issues or escalations

Required Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently sits, stands and walks.
