Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Engineering Designer II for its growing Traffic Planning team in Phoenix, Arizona.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire knowledge and develop essential skills in a specific practice area.
  • Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Assist with other project-related tasks such as permit applications, material testing, drawings, and CAD work.
  • Exercises judgment on work details and works under direct supervision on all aspects of assigned tasks.
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.

Typical projects include the following elements:

  • Traffic Impact Studies.
  • DOT Access Permitting.
  • Parking Studies.
  • Traffic Signal Design.
  • Traffic Calming Design.
  • Roadway Design.
  • Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • 2-5+ years of experience in Traffic Planning and/or Traffic Engineering/Signal Design.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred or able to obtain in first 6 months of hire.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at once.
  • Must thrive in a team setting and have a great attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to comprehend written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
