Responsibilities:
- The Cooling System Release Engineer is responsible for the development and validation of the automotive cooling system components.
- The candidate will ensure the components meet performance objectives and will coordinate development with other functional areas such as BIW Under hood, Aero/Thermal, HVAC, and suppliers.
- Duties will include writing source packages, requirements, host hardware/software reviews, change documents, component trouble shooting, and overall supplier management to meet program timing and deliverables (off tools and validated).
- The candidate will maintain a component DVP&R, Candidate will also support pilot build process at the assembly plant for development and installation of Cooling System components.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in engine cooling or other related design experience (HVAC, Aero-Thermal) also a plus.
- Strong PC + MS Office skills required.
- Excellent written, verbal and listening skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and motivated to produce results.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
- Basic thermodynamics knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aux pumps, valves, high voltage coolant heaters
- Experience using CAD software (NX, Catia, etc.)
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
- Basic knowledge in Thermodynamics
- Automotive assembly plant experience
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university.
