Solutions Architect, Sr - DevOps & Observability

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to establish and implement standardized DevOps practices and observability solutions for cloud applications.
  • Mentor and guide other architects and engineers in designing fit-for-purpose solutions that enhance operational visibility and streamline deployment processes.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cloud architecture library, including reference architectures, design patterns, and reusable components focused on DevOps and observability.
  • Provide expert guidance on implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and monitoring solutions to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Review and approve architecture designs to ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards, particularly in the context of DevOps and observability.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, offering insights and recommendations to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in DevOps, observability, and cloud platforms, particularly Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient cloud architectures with a focus on automated operations and monitoring.
  • Diagnose, triage, and resolve issues within cloud systems, leveraging observability tools to enhance incident response and system reliability.
  • Ensure security and compliance across all cloud environments, integrating security practices into the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Optimize cloud environments for performance and cost-effectiveness, utilizing monitoring and observability tools to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and monitor cloud costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps or related roles.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and observability frameworks.
  • Proficient in cloud-based solutions, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, or Grafana.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Terraform, Pulumi, Bicep, etc.
  • Experience in cloud standardization and design patterns, particularly related to DevOps and observability.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and practices, including scripting and configuration management.
  • Strong background in cloud integration strategies and system monitoring.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on improving system reliability and performance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with additional cloud platforms, such as AWS and GCP.
  • Relevant Azure certifications, such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or DevOps certifications.

Additional Notes:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate their experience with DevOps and observability solutions through real-world examples. They should be able to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role is primarily office/remote-based, with limited travel required for specific projects.
