We are looking for a Service Engineer - Turkey Region to join our team in Izmir who will report to the Director, Service - Heating & Refrigeration Technologies Division (HRT)

The role is focused on providing high-quality field service operations including installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and modernization of industrial refrigeration systems at customer sites. The position plays a key role in delivering technical excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the long-term reliability of installed systems.

We seek a technically skilled and customer-oriented professional who can work independently on site, solve complex technical problems, and represent GEA with professionalism and responsibility. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and motivated to contribute to the success of our HRT Service business in Turkey.

  • Perform installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems at customer sites in accordance with product manuals and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in spare part identification and selection, supporting customers with accurate parts lists to ensure operational continuity.
  • Guide and train customer personnel based on manuals and best practices to ensure system performance, efficiency, and safety.
  • Take preventive measures and provide proactive technical recommendations to customer site in order to avoid their unplanned downtimes and minimize production losses.
  • Provide technical support to customers and ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, document technical findings, and ensure all actions are aligned with internal standards and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with Service Planner and Service Sales Team to ensure customer expectation effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to GEA’s safety, quality, and compliance standards during all on-site activities.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or Vocational Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.

  • Experience working with Ammonia and CO₂ systems.
  • +7 years of hands-on experience in Industrial Refrigeration.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to manuals and technical documentation
  • Competent in troubleshooting medium level controls issues, which can include PLC, HMI, SCADA, VFD and servo components.
  • Excellent customer communication, detail oriented and problem-solving skill
  • High sense of responsibility, discipline, and ownership
  • Proficient in English and Turkish
  • Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessments for industrial environments
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Turkey and abroad CIS/STAN Countries
