Moderna is seeking a Senior Solution Architect – SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) to lead the evolution of its SAP OTC landscape from Warsaw, with a focus on the US Pharma market. In this strategic individual contributor role, you will be the primary architect and delivery expert shaping the backbone of Moderna’s commercial sales processes.

Leveraging deep expertise in SAP SD, pricing, billing, and finance integration, you’ll design cutting-edge solutions that enhance efficiency, drive automation, and ensure regulatory compliance across complex sales and distribution ecosystems. Your work will span 3PL and EDI integrations, external pricing tools, and eCommerce platforms—placing you at the core of Moderna’s commercial transformation. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to influence enterprise technology strategy while getting close to emerging innovations such as Generative AI.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Leading solution architecture and hands-on configuration for SAP OTC processes tailored to the US Pharma commercial landscape.
  • Driving integration of SAP SD with 3PL logistics partners, ensuring seamless order fulfillment and inventory synchronization.
  • Owning the end-to-end design and implementation of EDI integrations with major US wholesalers for streamlined order, invoice, and chargeback processes.
  • Implementing and maintaining SAP SD interfaces with external pricing solutions like Vistex and Model N.
  • Collaborating with Finance and Accounting to enable compliant revenue recognition and receivables processing.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Enhancing eCommerce SAP SD integrations to support automated, scalable digital sales flows.
  • Delivering advanced SAP SD reporting capabilities for actionable sales insights and revenue forecasts.
  • Identifying and executing process improvement opportunities within OTC workflows, emphasizing automation and operational excellence.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with DSCSA, SOX, and revenue recognition policies relevant to the US pharmaceutical industry.
  • Keeping Moderna at the forefront of SAP S/4HANA trends, future-proofing commercial sales architecture.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with 7+ years of hands-on SAP consulting or industry experience.
  • Proven expertise in SAP SD, OTC processes, pricing, billing, and logistics execution.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring SAP SD modules, including order management, delivery processing, invoicing, credit management, and returns.
  • Strong experience with 3PL integration, ensuring smooth warehouse, logistics, and inventory coordination.
  • Expertise in EDI integration with US pharmaceutical wholesalers, including 850 (purchase orders), 856 (ASNs), 810 (invoices), and 867 (sales tracing) transactions.
  • Experience with eCommerce integration, including SAP’s ability to support online order flows and digital sales models.
  • Knowledge of external pricing engines such as Vistex or Model N, supporting pricing execution, chargebacks, and rebate management.
  • Understanding of SAP SD-FI integration, including revenue recognition, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards in the Pharma industry, including chargeback validation, government pricing, and DSCSA regulations.
  • Strong ability to independently drive SAP projects from requirement gathering through solution delivery and post-go-live support.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience delivering projects using Agile Methodology
  • SAP S/4HANA experience in end to end Order to Cash cycle
  • Proficiency with SAP and non-SAP integration with EDI, Manufacturing and logistics systems
  • Hands on experience with SD integration with Purchasing, Finance and Master data
  • Experience integrating SAP with CRM and eCommerce platforms, such as Salesforce, Magento, or Shopify.
  • Ability to understand business requirements, manage user stories and define, document, design & deliver SAP Configurations, and functional specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with business and technical people alike.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, communication and inter-personal skills
  • Quick learner. Demonstrate initiative and ownership.
  • SAP certification preferred.
  • Experience working with Pharmaceutical, Life Science, or highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and simultaneously organize work across multiple projects.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced, highly dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Be self-driven, willing to collaborate, think creatively, and drive tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Self-directed with effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to drive results on multiple complex assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
