Job Title:Campus Life Operations Manager

Department:Office of Student Engagement

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce policies and procedures of the student centers and University.
  • Coordinate work schedules and shift changes with the GA for Operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between Campus Life professional staff and student staff.
  • Conduct employee evaluations with the Associate Director and GA for Operations.
  • Oversee the operation and organization of the Organization Suite.
  • Maintain organization within workspaces.
  • Schedule and conduct monthly staff meetings.
  • Create and distribute newsletters and quizzes; collect quiz data.
  • Cover vacant hours in emergencies.
  • Assist in planning staff training programs and evaluations.
  • Manage organization mail and lockers, including commuter student lockers.
  • Review staff duty logs and document coaching and disciplinary conversations.
  • Monitor and report disciplinary points of employees.
  • Create weekly reports for the GA for Operations and Associate Director.
  • Hold office hours at Carl Hansen 202 Welcome Desk.
  • Hold office hours at the Welcome Desk or in the Organization Suite.

Programming Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, schedule, and execute programming in the Organization Suite, including club leadership workshops, event planning workshops, finance workshops and organization related sessions, etc.
  • Collaborate with the GA for Organizations on building these workshops.
  • Organize in-person programs each semester.
  • Support Office of Student Engagement sponsored events.

Qualifications:

  • Must have held a leadership position in a student club or organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must have an understanding of the student organization event approval and submission process, and OrgMail pick up process.
  • Strong background and interest in event planning.
  • Ability to design programs geared towards student leadership.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting department and University goals.
  • Maturity and a strong sense of direction.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of safety and risk management procedures.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and those with special needs.
  • Capability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Foster a growth mindset and interest in innovation.
  • Positive attitude towards student leadership, Campus Life, and the University.

Hours of Position:

  • 15hrs per week
  • Must be available to work during daytime hours, with possible weekend shifts during the academic year
