Scope of Position
Under direct supervision of the Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student Intern will assist the technical staff in performing duties and tasks to support the performance of multiple imaging modalities of the Radiology Department.
Position Summary
The Diagnostic Division - Rhodes Hall encompasses 9 examination rooms located on the 2nd floor, Rhodes Hall; 2 examination rooms located in the Emergency Department, 2 exam rooms in the James Cancer Hospital and portable units throughout the Medical Center. The area is staffed 24 hours per day Sunday - Saturday. The CT Division encompasses 3 imaging rooms located on the 2nd floor, Doan Hall, 2 imaging rooms located in the Emergency Department, 1 CT on the first floor James and 1 CT on the 10th floor in the James area. The CT division is staffed 24 hours per day Sunday - Saturday. The MR Division encompasses 3 MR’s on the 2nd floor Rhodes Hall, 2 MR’s on the 1st floor James Cancer Hospital, 1 MR in Radiation Oncology. The MR division is staffed 24 hours per day Sunday - Saturday. The outpatient locations provide MR, CT, Diagnostic x-ray, Ultrasound, and Bone Density. The outpatient sites maintain hours between 7am and 11pm Sunday – Saturday, depending on site.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Student in a Health Field. Must have own transportation.
Ongoing: Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
The Imaging front desk at Outpatient Care New Albany requires coverage from 7:00am to 10:00pm Monday through Friday and 7:30am to 8:00pm on Saturday and Sunday to check-in patients for Imaging tests, complete confirmation phone calls, assist in scheduling highly sought after MRIs, and direct patients to appointments in other departments.
