Your Job

Responsible for the Design and Development of new and sustaining industrial products and to serve as an engineering bridge between the product development team and the manufacturing facility. The primary focus will be to represent and take ownership of the new / sustaining product engineering and introduction into the plant to ensure timely and accurate product launch into production. Product designs will be based on the manufacturing plant location supported. This position will require solid knowledge of product design & development and manufacturing engineering principles.

Our Team

The Industrial Solutions Business Unit specializes in designing and manufacturing solutions for electrical infrastructure, power products and automation connectivity. The markets served a range from Automotive Production, Food & Beverage, Material Handling and heavy-duty applications in general. Customers are OEMs and distributors, line builders, machine integrators, data centers, maintenance & repair operations.

What you will do

    • Experience and knowledge of electro-mechanical product design in Industrial applications; preferably separable connectors.
    • Knowledge of mechanical design for injection molded, metal stamping, screw-machined, and die-cast components.
    • Document new product designs, including CAD models, drawings, PLM data, document release and changes.
    • Coordinate new product launches and changes.
    • Assist in the resolution of day-to-day design engineering issues in the plant and feedback systemic issues to design group.
    • Assist manufacturing engineers, support personnel, and technicians in the development and testing of prototypes.
    • Providing support to manufacturing process engineers to develop test procedures, manufacturing support documentation, fixtures, procedures.
    • Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems.
    • Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations.

Who you are

  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3D and 2D CAD experience (Solidworks or NX or Inventor) required.
  • Experience with development and testing of prototypes.
  • Experience with the formulation of product test procedures.
  • Connector industry experience is highly desirable.
  • SAP or equivalent MRP system knowledge is desirable.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (crimping, soldering, testing, etc.).
  • Injection molding experience highly desirable.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and electro-mechanical product testing experience.
  • Office automation programs such MS Word, Excel or equivalent.
