Job Summary:
The Acute Care Technician performs under the direct supervision of the RN and is delegated tasks by the RN or Patient Care Coordinator, to achieve quality patient care. He/she is involved in the implementation phase of the nursing process and is responsible to the RN, Patient Care Coordinator and Patient Care Manager. He/she is responsible for assisting patients with all activities of daily living, including but not limited to; bathing, feeding, assisting with toileting, turning and repositioning patients and clinical duties such as, taking and documenting vital signs, point of care glucose testing, reporting abnormal values to the RN, and performing venipuncture. Other duties will be delegated by the RN, PCC, or PCM.

Education/Skills:
High School Diploma/GED and successful completion of Acute Care Technician course at FGH during clinical orientation required. Successful completion of Monitor Tech course at FGH and completion of forty hours of training with a current Monitor Tech required within 6 months of the hire date if the class is available and staffing permits.
Work Experience:
Prior experience working as a Nurse Aide preferred.
