As the Process Director for Technology Development in Taiwan, you will lead a world-class R&D process organization. Our team comprises process managers and engineers specializing in Litho, Dry Etch, Thin Films CVD/Diffusion, Metals, CMP, and Wet Process. Your role involves transferring and introducing new technology nodes from Micron’s Technology Development sites in the US and Japan into our Taiwan manufacturing fabs, and enhancing processes to meet manufacturing requirements. We collaborate closely with R&D and Manufacturing to develop robust processes, prepare for pilot demonstrations and ramp-ups, and adhere to technology budget requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizational improvement and the career development of your team members

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new processes for leading edge DRAM technology, including industry first-of-a-kind workstations.
  • Partner with Manufacturing fab for effective transfer, pilot ramp and ongoing process maturity to achieve New Product gate criteria.
  • Collaborate with Process Integration and Manufacturing team to align on project priorities and deliver robust, manufacturing friendly processes on time.
  • Engage with suppliers to develop the process and equipment needed to meet technology roadmap.
  • Maintain safe environment through proactive safety practices and by ensuring safety policies are always followed.
  • Hire, develop, mentor, and leading a team of highly capable process engineers and managers.
  • Build a culture of innovation and tenacity within group to meet the needs of accelerated technology cadence.
  • Provide regular feedback to your team members on performance, developing a career plan and mentoring the team members to support their professional development, through Micron’s performance planning and appraisal process.
  • Set strategy for future technology nodes introductions.
  • This position requires communications and collaboration with partners both locally and globally. Strict alignment to Micron Intellectual Property protection policy is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Masters/PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical engineering, or in related engineering fields with over 15 years of experience in semiconductor industry with a mix of R&D, transfer and manufacturing is preferred 
  • Experience leading a large team across multiple semiconductor process area is preferred
  • Must be seen by current reports as an excellent mentor, team builder, motivator and technical specialist with validated ability to solicit feedback, accept input, and analyze success/failure
  • Must possess broad knowledge of semiconductor unit process areas.
  • Experience handling suppliers to meet cost and performance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful projects and form constructive relationships with partners, customers, and Consumable/Equipment suppliers.
  • Capability to instill a department culture within each team member in-line with the company core values.
  • Ability to take calculated risks challenging oneself and others to complete new solutions.
  • Proficient in English verbally and in written, with strong presentation communication skills
  • Flexible with international travel, including short or long-term assignments as needed.
