Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operational Excellence (OpEx) Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives within our automotive remanufacturing operations. This role will be responsible for implementing lean manufacturing principles, optimizing processes, and leading cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 methodologies with a passion for fostering a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement: Identify, develop, and implement Lean Six Sigma projects to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Process Optimization: Analyze manufacturing processes using data-driven methodologies to improve throughput, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Kaizen & Value Stream Mapping: Facilitate Kaizen events, perform value stream mapping (VSM), and deploy standardized work practices.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Problem-Solving: Utilize tools such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, and PFMEA to resolve production issues and prevent recurrence.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Digital Transformation & Smart Manufacturing: Collaborate with IT and automation teams to implement data-driven solutions, IIoT, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Training & Coaching: Train plant personnel on Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to build internal capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to align operational excellence initiatives with business objectives.
- Cost Reduction & Waste Elimination: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce material waste, downtime, and energy consumption.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or process engineering within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS), Just-in-Time (JIT), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Minitab, Power BI, SQL, Excel, etc.) and process simulation software.
- Experience with ERP/MES systems and digital manufacturing technologies.
- Proven ability to lead Kaizen events, 5S programs, and standard work implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to influence and drive cultural change.
