The Department of Engineering Management & Technology (EMT) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor Level in Engineering Management.
The successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in related engineering, engineering management, or a closely related field from an accredited program, giving him/her the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the engineering management curriculum. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: supply chain and logistics design & optimization, focusing on efficient and resilient supply chain networks, logistics operations, and data-driven decision-making; complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis, applying advanced techniques to enhance engineering and management systems; intelligent transportation systems, leveraging smart technologies and data analytics for improved efficiency, safety, and sustainability; and reliability engineering, enhancing system reliability through robust design, failure mode analysis, and risk assessment.
Applicants should be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction, and have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities. This position also requires establishing working relationships with the local construction industry for education, training, and project activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students, are desired.
