Your contribution to Prysmian's Success: 

We are looking for an Electrical and Mechanical Labs Specialist our research laboratory at our headquarters in Milan.

Reporting directly to the Director of R&D Labs HQ, you will:

  • Manage the Electrical Research Laboratory where:
  • They will interface with R&D functions to define and understand project needs;
  • Define test scheduling and lead specific R&D projects;
  • Use a theoretical approach to set up experimental activities to optimize them based on the required application (from low voltage to very high voltage AC and DC) and available resources;
  • Coordinate laboratory operators;
  • Be responsible for QHSE aspects within their scope;
  • Supervise tests on materials and samples taken from cable systems to evaluate their ability to withstand electrical, thermal, and environmental stresses and their synergistic effects;
  • Analyze and interpret the results obtained and share them with internal clients to maximize their value;
  • Manage the equipment fleet (from measurement systems for electrical characterization of insulating materials to systems for electrical characterization of model/medium voltage cables).

You are the right fit if you have/are: 

  • Fluent in English
  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in test laboratories, university and/or industrial (a PhD is considered specific experience)
  • Master's degree in Electrical/Energy/Materials/Chemical Engineering or Master's degree in Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry Electronics
  • True passion for laboratory activities
  • Ability to coordinate a team
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills 
  • Decision making attitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills 
  • Strong teamwork skills, results oriented and ambitious mindset
