Financial Risk Management department is looking for a curricular internship within GmbH Milan Branch – Unicredit Group in Milan.
Job Description
- Perform daily Market Risk validation, limit monitoring, analysis and reporting (VaR, Stressed VaR, Incremental Risk Charge, sensitivities, granular market risk limits)
- Perform and validate back testing and stress testing
- Apply an investigative approach to daily activities
- Interact with other Market Risk Management teams, Business and IT Department
Qualifications
- Academic background in a quantitative field (e.g. mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, finance)
- Good IT skills and some experience in programming and scripting languages
- Experience in one or more of the following fields is an advantage: risk management practices, banking regulation, commercial banking
- Ability to operate with mild supervision in a complex environment, assuming responsibility for the delivery of quantitative analyses
What you'll be doing
As Financial Risk Management Specialist you will have the chance to support and participate to:
- definition of procedures, guidelines and policies to ensure that all the risk functions are compliant with both internal and external legal and regulatory requirements regarding financial risk management and ensure the implementation of respective financial risk strategies
- production of periodic reports to ensure transparency regarding the company risk profile as well as regularity and conformity of risk dynamics compared to the defined strategies
- analyses on market and portfolio development
- implementation of risk valuation models, e.g. value at risk model and in managing day-to-day risk exposure (position limits, global limits) and also involved in all the activities related to the Second Level Controls
What you'll need to succeed
- Be able to: - analyze consistency between Group and local Risk Appetite - evaluate consistency between Risk Appetite and budget submission (both at Group and Local level) - monitor and report to Competent Bodies - update/review potential Risk Appetite
- Be able to identify and analyze risks that could impact an organization or individual financially, such as credit and market risks, and propose solutions to cover against those risks
- Be able to develop software for creating and managing financial models, automating calculations for financial models, simulating, analyzing and forecasting financial scenario of any complexity
- Knowledge of the set of techniques that measure, quantify, and predict risk with a large degree of accuracy to prevent risk-related issues
- Knowledge of the financial products, the financial market, insurances, loans or other types of financial data and services to support analysis and contents production
- Knowledge of the financial markets to perform analysis and projections
- Knowledge of funding instruments and markets to identify the most relevant for company/financial institutions needs
- Be able to assess and analyze liquidity risks and suggest corrective actions, considering several aspects such as main external requirements on liquidity risk, main liquidity risk metrics and internal regulation
- Be able to assess and analyze interest rate risks and suggest corrective actions, considering several aspects such as main external requirements on liquidity risk, main liquidity risk metrics and internal regulation
- Be able to perform securitization and Secured Financing Transactions techniques
- Knowledge of techniques to determining the current (or projected) worth of an asset or a company following an analytical process
- Knowledge of Environmental, Social and Governance risk factors that may have a positive or negative impact on the financial performance or solvency of an entity, sovereign or individual
