In this role, the Operations Manager will drive initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering Material Systems (EMS) Composite Section and will interface with other functions within the EMS and Composite Community to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. This leader will be responsible for departmental operations planning/execution and may also be focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions of this role will be with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job also allows for modification and improvement of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). Knowledge of composite design and materials is not necessary but helpful in order to understand the customers of this role and their priorities. This role will report directly with the EMS Composite Section Executive.
