Mission
We have a fantastic opportunity in our Finance Team based in Kobe, Japan. This is a challenging role in which you Lead the Finance function in Japan and report to the controllership Director for our APAC region.
Responsibilities
- Ensure tax and accounting integrity and documentation based on local GAAP and IFRS
- Manage month-end close and manage interactions with Business and Controlling Team
- Ensure all financial reporting (P&L, Full B/S and Cash flow) for his/her perimeter / organization
- Ensure quality of Internal Control of financial processes
- Coordinate audited and release statutory books of accounts
- Manage treasury activities and cash forecast
Reporting / Accounting
- Manage month-end closing activities delivering a full trial balance, financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income statement and cash-flow)
- Ensure that month-end, quarterly and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time
- Analyse financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders :
- Monthly volumes, price & margin analyses by product and customer
- For industrial activity, responsible for cost and production update and analysis; manage unit cost update and gap analysis; monitor production cost vs budget
- Manage project accounting : supporting the calculation of POC (percentage of completion) and monthly review of projects business performance
- Provide financial data to support site management and controlling
- Validate provisions and accruals
- Responsible for monthly reporting in the Group tool (Magnitude, later to be Oracle FCCS)
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records : submission of all ancillary accounting obligations
- Responsible for local annual audit
- Preparation of Statutory Financials books of accounts with compliance to audit
- Manage and oversee Capex: accounting, definition of useful life & depreciation method in respect of accounting Standards
- Monitor Regulatory changes of accounting
Tax
- Responsible for statutory filings, supervise tax filing, tax returns and manage possible Tax Audits
- Monitor Regulatory changes of taxes
Cash management
- Oversee and develop local treasury activities and weekly cash flow forecast
- Contribute to credit management including new customers credit profiles assessment.
Internal control
- Ensure management procedures are put into practice, contributing to projects and driving implementation of new solutions in finance
- Ensure quality of internal control (in particular anti-bribery control)
People Management
- Lead and manage the team ( 2 positions).
- Responsible for development of the team, training activities, recruitments, appraisals and any other topics related to people management
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in a leading Finance position, as a senior accountant with an experience in managing and developing a Finance / accountant team
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting is the minimum requested but a profile who also has earned a master’s degree in accounting / finance or certification such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) are preferred and further finance qualifications such as ACA, ACCA/FCCA.
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), practices, standards, laws and regulations, tax computations
- Design and implementation of process improvements and controls.
- Ability to handle complex financial information and financial risk
- Excellent communication skills
- High level of efficiency and accuracy.,.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multi tasks / project and meet tight deadlines, is analytical and highly organized
- Work comfortably in a highly collaborative setting, have a confident and outgoing personality,
- Proficient in English
- Proficient in financial software as SAP, database and Microsoft & Google suite package
