The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in the design, development and maintenance of Resideo water products, including water filters, backflow preventers, pressure reduction valves, thermo-mixing valves and others, focusing on creating innovative, cost effective and dependable solutions for Resideo water business.

You are responsible for the entire product development lifecycle, creating new and innovative products as we embark on a period of significant investment in new product development. 

JOB DUTIES: 

• Designs products and systems
• Defines, designs, develops, verifies, tests and supports mechanical and mechatronic equipment 
• Prototypes, tests, evaluates results and proposes corrective actions 
• Plans and is responsible for the entire product development cycle from initial design to introduction into mass production 
• Supports production of existing products 
• Co-creates new technologies, development methods and innovations 
• Works in a project team with colleagues from around the world 
• Responsible for delivering project deliverables to agreed time, quality and specification 
• Defines what needs to be created, the content of the work, the structure of the work and helps lead the project to completion 
• Highlights potential development barriers and issues and determines corrective action 
• Communicates with colleagues in English and travels abroad when necessary 
• Helps to develop junior colleagues and the whole team by their willingness to collaborate and share their experience and knowledge and contribute to the development of the company according to their core values - starting with the customer, acting as one team, opening the way to the future and differentiating ourselves from others 
• Looking for gaps in the working environment, pointing them out and trying to close them 

YOU MUST HAVE: 

• 7+ years' experience in product design development (new product introduction, improvements or sustaining)
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies from metals to plastics and rubber
• Knowledge of maintaining drawings and informing the production department of changes
• Implementation of prototypes
• Knowledge of product certification processes
• Able to speak and write in English 

WE VALUE:

• Potable water mechanical design experience (not essential)
• Knowledge of potable water standards and certification needs (not essential)
• Experience in 3D CAD Creo and data management (not essential)
• Thinking out of the box and bringing your own ideas and solutions
• Ability to work in a team as well as individually
