The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in the design, development and maintenance of Resideo water products, including water filters, backflow preventers, pressure reduction valves, thermo-mixing valves and others. 

You will be responsible for the development of mechanical parts/products as well as the creation of technical documentation.

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Design and development of parts and products produced by various manufacturing technologies - injection molding, casting, forging and others
  • Creation of 3D models and technical documentation
  • Defining inputs for strength analysis of parts and systems, thermal analysis of parts and systems
  • Designing and building prototypes and performing functional tests
  • Preparing Bill of Materials and managing technical documentation (Engineering Change Request/Order process)
  • Estimating component and product loading
  • Technical management of projects from first design to production
  • Technical support in negotiations with DFM component suppliers

YOU MUST HAVE: 

  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD system
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies from metals to plastics and rubber
  • Knowledge of maintaining drawings and informing the production department of changes
  • Implementation of prototypes
  • English language (B2 level)

WE VALUE:

  • Potable water mechanical design experience (not essential)
  • Knowledge of product certification process
  • Knowledge of potable water standards and certification needs (not essential)
  • Experience in 3D CAD Creo and data management (not essential)
  • Thinking out of the box and bringing your own ideas and solutions
  • Ability to work in a team as well as individually
  • Willingness to travel (especially for training)
  • German language basics is a plus
