WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Performing new model start-ups, improving current models and providing engineering support to manufacturing, support groups and higher-level engineers. Creating a smooth transition for new models from Engineering to Maintenance with good customer satisfaction by:

  • Developing and implementing new model assembly processes/lines, machines and fixtures.
  • Monitoring equipment performance and developing and implementing new methods to achieve product quality and cost efficiencies.
  • Designing and building and troubleshooting automated assembly equipment / tooling.
  • Creating and maintaining new model schedules.
  • Developing or modifying PLC programs for existing or new equipment.
  • Creating or modifying PE-1 documentation, ensuring ISO requirements are met.

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering is required. (Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a four-year degree).
  • Some experience in 3D Modeling software (Inventor, Solid Works, Catia).
  • Ability to follow electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to trouble shoot mechanical & electrical systems.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing concepts. 
  • Experience with PLC programming.
  • Experience with AC motors, DC motors and Servo motors.
  • Knowledge and experience in machine vision systems programming.
  • Experience working with photo electric sensors, proximity sensors, laser sensors and pressure sensors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and Access Database.
  • These qualifications are preferred but not necessary for you to get started:
  • Knowledge of plastic welding processes and other assembly processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Robotics/Pneumatics preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General Office Environment 3 hours per day
  • Manufacturing Environment 5 hours per day
  • Overnight travel may be required to perform essential functions at remote locations or attend training.
  • Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet customer or internal deadlines and requirements.
  • Approximately 2 hours per day bending.
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs

HAZARDS:

  • While performing the job the position is frequently exposed to moving or mechanical parts.
  • Moderate noise levels with specific areas required to wear hearing protection.
  • Equipment, electric shock, conveyors and chemicals
