Your role and responsibilities

ABB is pioneering technology leader in motor and drives which are an integral part of everyone’s lives. Our drives offering is the most comprehensive, unmatched by anyone else in the drives industry. We are looking for an R&D Engineer to become expert contributor to the DevX team at MV Drives, ensuring that the entire build and test infrastructure is efficient, stable, and always available for the software development teams (80+ developers). More about System Drives: https://new.abb.com/drives/medium-voltage-ac-drives https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSS780Prehk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUP73yfy7yw The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: •Highly skilled in configuring and maintaining MV software build environments and pipelines •Expert in advanced scripting, Python, Groovy, PowerShell, and other scripting languages •Expert in using and maintaining Jenkins pipelines to automate and streamline CI/CD processes •Expert in Ansible provisioning for automation and configuration management •Design, adapt and implement CI/CD architectures that scale and meet the needs of MV software projects. Highly skilled in the UCON hardware architecture and internals •Understand the entire build/test environment very well and provide clear guidance and mentorship to other team members

Qualifications for the role

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation and Robotics or related field
  • At least 2 years of professional experience with software development in C/C++, preferably with CI/CD
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Experience with GIT and knowledge of continuous integration systems (Jenkins) is a plus
  • Understanding converter control theory is a plus
  • Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working in an Agile team environment, with strong problem-analysis and solving skills
  • Strong desire to learn and share knowledge
