2025 BCG First Nations and Indigenous Internship and Scholarship

At BCG, we have a proud history of supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia. We believe in empowering First Nations emerging leaders who are eager to make a difference and create impact. Our First Nations and Indigenous Internship & Scholarship is designed to recognise outstanding talent and to provide the tools to grow both personally and professionally. 

The BCG First Nations and Indigenous Internship and Scholarship is open to Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Pasifika or Māori undergraduate or post-graduate students in their in their penultimate year of study at a registered university. 

As a BCG First Nations and Indigenous Internship and Scholarship recipient, you will:

• receive AUD$20,000 in scholarship funding
• join one of our offices as an intern for 8 weeks
• learn about the work we do and explore how you can make a difference with our clients, colleagues, and communities
• be assigned a mentor through the remainder of your studies, as well as a buddy who will support you during your internship
• gain real-world experience before you graduate
• build strong relationships and connect with peers through different activities
• have a pathway to a full time graduate role with BCG Australia and New Zealand

What You'll Do

As a member of our consulting team, you’ll work alongside some of the world’s top minds on cases that reshape business, government, and society. You’ll collaborate on challenging projects with team members from many backgrounds and disciplines, increasing your understanding of complex business problems from diverse perspectives and developing new skills and experience to help you at every stage of your career—at BCG and beyond.

Consulting work is varied and rigorous, much of it performed at our client sites. Projects can vary in length, size, and location, depending on the client’s challenge. Given our global client base, you may also have the opportunity to travel internationally.

As a guide, we'd like to see details about:

• Any work experience that you have had. We are seeking motivated individuals who can showcase a strong career trajectory and a high level of impact in the roles they have held – including retail, hospitality, or internships
• Your extra-curricular activities, whether on campus or outside of university life. Have you played sports extensively, or are you involved in a hobby that takes up a lot of your time? We look for individuals who demonstrate impact and legacy, significant contribution, and high levels of commitment, initiative, and responsibility
• Your academic credentials. For Scholarship and Early Intake program applications, you should be in your penultimate (second last) year of undergraduate studies. If you are studying at The University of Melbourne, you are eligible to apply if you are in your first year of your master’s studies
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency
• Be of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islands, Māori or Pacific Island origin
