Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per annum

Our Ajax client, a leading manufacturer, is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their dynamic team!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage bi-weekly EFT payments in order to review and approve
  • Conduct monthly Accounts Receivable reviews to ensure any outstanding balances are managed and customer issues are resolved
  • Perform account reconciliations and look into any discrepancies
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
  • Support month-end closing and financial statement preparation
  • Coordinate bi-weekly payroll processing with ADP
  • Maintain payroll records, year-end reconciliations, and government remittances
  • Assist external auditors with the year-end audit
  • Product costing and pricing analysis
  • Directly support the CFO with financial projects
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Pursuing or currently CPA designated
  • Minimum of 4 years as Assistant Controller or Accounting Manager
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organization, problem solving and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good time management skills, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to handle a variety of high-pressure situations and work independently

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience streamlining financial workflows
  • Looking to grow into a leadership role
  • Ability to mentor junior team members

Compensation and Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum (based on experience)
