In Micron's Package Development Engineering (PDE) Group, you will be part of an outstanding team dedicated to developing brand-new Technode technology. Our collaborative environment is crafted to foster innovation and deliver outstanding results.

As a SR DESIGN ENGINEER- PACKAGE SILICON INTEGRATION, you will play a pivotal role in our ambitious mission. This outstanding opportunity allows you to work alongside experts in silicon design, package design, wafer fab, package integration, test, and QRA. You will be instrumental in driving technology development through various phases of maturity and contributing to Micron's strategic objective of Technology leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the roadmap for silicon and package technology across market segments, and identify solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement the design roadmap for new silicon technology paired with new package technologies for various memory applications, addressing Chip Package Interaction (CPI) issues.
  • Manage and apply design rules, using design rule checks (DRC) in silicon and package domains.
  • Define test structures, plan DOEs, characterize enabling technologies, document best-known processes, and hand-off to manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with silicon, package, and saw street designers to find solutions and implement relevant design rules.
  • Work closely with worldwide R&D/manufacturing wafer fabs and packaging teams to resolve issues and improve yield, quality, and manufacturability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a subject area with equivalent experience.
  • Validated experience in silicon and package design within the semiconductor industry.
  • Proficient understanding of thermal, mechanical, electrical, and reliability requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Proficiency in design rule check (DRC) and related technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Chip Package Interaction (CPI) and Technode development.
  • Familiarity with test structure definition, DOE planning, and technology characterization.
  • Consistent track record of successfully implementing design rules and improving manufacturability.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
