The Indiana University Alumni Association's (IUAA) mission is to activate and support the global alumni network of more than 790,000 IU graduates - encouraging alumni to grow a lifelong connection with Indiana University and inspiring their ongoing generosity toward each other and the university.

The IUAA activates IU's powerful global network through live and virtual events, volunteer opportunities, scholarship programs, compelling IU content, and seriously fun traditions. Additionally, the association develops and supports volunteer leadership, serves as a voice for alumni as the university evolves, and provides lifelong learning opportunities.

Job Summary

  • Provides communications support for individual volunteers across the country by preparing data lists, developing content, and sending communications out in a timely manner. 
  • Edits and updates website content on the Volunteer Intranet to align with current IU advancement and institutional priorities, policies, and best practices. 
  • Supports the Market Engagement team's projects through administrative support including Workfront requests, preparing reports, and mailing gifts/swag to volunteers. 
  • Develops supplemental documentation in support of strategic priority action items. 
  • Provides administrative support for alumni communities directly and not directly supported by the Market Engagement or Affinity Engagement teams. 
  • Provides on-site event support as needed for IUAA events.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

EDUCATION

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

  • Experience in an office setting 
  • Experience developing written copy for publications and various audiences 

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Preferred

  • Valid driver¿s license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University

SKILLS

Required

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities and projects
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Ability to exercise initiative, work independently and effectively as a team member

Preferred

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Experience with online social networking, and other web-based initiatives
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software like Blackbaud
  • Demonstrates strong writing, planning and organizational skills

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
