Moderna is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect, Costing (SAP) to join our Poland office in Warsaw. This role is ideal for a candidate who stays at the forefront of technology trends while delivering innovative and transformative digital solutions to support Costing and Financial teams.

Success in this role requires a deep understanding of complex global product costing processes and the ability to align system capabilities with business needs.

As the key Solution Architect for the CMC Finance organization, you will collaborate with Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to implement and continuously improve processes and technical solutions using SAP S/4HANA and other financial applications. Additionally, you will work with digital and finance teams to establish foundational processes while building an innovative technology roadmap.

Here’s What You’ll Do

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Act as the system expert for finance-related configurations in SAP S/4HANA, with a focus on costing.
  • Lead functional and technical configuration and development for finance and costing business processes within SAP S/4HANA.
  • Deliver SAP S/4HANA strategic solutions across Finance, leveraging modules such as Accounting Operations, Cost Accounting, Overhead Cost Management, Product Costing, Material Ledger, Profitability Analysis, and Actual Costing.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for application support in both current and post-go-live digital finance landscapes.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects of small to medium size.
  • Write functional specifications and collaborate with development teams.
  • Support SAP and non-SAP financial/costing reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align technology solutions with financial strategies.
  • Deliver projects and initiatives independently, ensuring timely execution and high quality.
  • Identify potential risks and take proactive measures to resolve issues.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Finance, Management information system or related field required; a combination of experience and education may be considered
  • Minimum 8 years working with financial business processes and financial systems in an SAP environment
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with SAP S/4 HANA platform
  • Strong Inventory Valuation, Product Costing, Project system and Group Valuation background with SAP Material Ledger knowledge and support skill.
  • Working/project experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry particularly in a global environment with contract manufacturers

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Demonstrated eminence in accounting & financial applications (for e.g. SAP certifications)
  • Extensive costing experience in intercompany business and manufacturing processes.
  • Functional SAP expertise in product costing, inventory management, cost center accounting, profitability analysis, material ledger and group valuation
  • Strong financial reporting skills especially in management/cost accounting field
  • Deep understanding of SAP master data
  • Experience integrating with Sales, Logistics and Manufacturing teams
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects or workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing life sciences environment is a bonus
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Effective communicator to management, peers, and project partners
  • Ability to effectively collaborate effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional Matrix environment
