Responsibilities:
Tetra Tech supports facility management and building operations and maintenance consulting, vertical and horizontal built-asset consulting, and overall owner’s representative consulting related to their built asset portfolio. This consulting spans the spectrum of existing facility construction, building operation, facility maintenance, performance studies such as facility condition assessments, energy audits, decarbonization studies, commissioning, and retro-commissioning, building renovation, indoor air quality, HVAC performance, upgrade and replacement recommendations, life cycle cost analysis, facility related control systems, and design. A FCA is an asset inventory and inspection and engineering analysis of the level of maintenance and performance history, failure trends, root cause analyses, and work requirements to be accomplished that establishes the physical and mechanical condition of an asset. Clients use the FCA as a planning tool for short and long-term budget requests. Tetra Tech is seeking registered, professional mechanical engineers qualified to assess and provide subject matter expertise on electrical, mechanical, fire protection, plumbing, and other facility systems, as well as MEP related linear utility systems.
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in supporting asset management and facility infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will assist Project Managers, or manage projects, in obtaining and assisting new clients and with planning and design of projects for a variety of municipal, state, and federal clients throughout the continental United States. This position could expect travel up to 50% per month to client sites to support or lead field teams conducting facility condition assessments, energy audits, studies, site investigations, client meetings, charrettes, conferences, and other company related activities requiring travel. Depending on the employee location, work in the local Tetra Tech office or home office will constitute the remainder of work.
Language & Communication Skills:
Must be fluent in the English language – speaking and writing skills required. Additional languages a bonus.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform simple arithmetic and perform engineering calculations necessary to complete work and produce client deliverables.
Other Skills:
Candidate must have the ability to work well in a professional and team-oriented environment, as well as independently. Candidate should possess strong organizational skills and be client focused. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with AutoCAD, GIS, Mathlab, Mathcad, Python, AI proficiency a plus.

The salary range for this position is $63,000 to $96,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
