Job Summary
The Neurology Department is hiring a Staff Research Associate that will work on MRI data as part of ongoing studies in Multiple Sclerosis. The SRA will have the opportunity to work closely with imaging scientists and engineers, as well as Neuroradiologists and Neurologists. The focus of the work will be on developing and running pipelines for the processing and analysis of advanced MRI imaging data on patients with Multiple Sclerosis as well as control volunteers.
This data is used in large scale research studies, specifically for Multiple Sclerosis research. Also included will be the compilation of datasets for a specific study in order to present results at a scientific conference. Generally, the role will be supportive in providing data to ongoing and future studies using quantitative MRI metrics, with potential for presenting work at conferences.
Skills necessary to be successful in this position: scientific programming experience (proficiency in Python and Unix shell scripting). Experience in performing image processing and analysis using neuroimaging pipelines like FSL, Freesurfer and Nipype software packages. Experience performing statistical analysis (preferably in R or MATLAB). Experience with HTML and JavaScript.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $28.04 - $45.09 (Hourly Rate).
