The Construction division of Hennepin County's Transportation department is seeking an Engineering Technician or Assistant Engineering Technician to work with the construction inspection crew with rotations to a survey crew and/or materials testing lab.
The Assistant Engineering Technician will be provided an exposure to work with a municipal government and public works at a county-wide scale. Training and the opportunity to develop professionally through formal and informal training will be provided.
The list created from this posting will be used to fill a vacancy at either the Assistant Engineering Technician or the Engineering Technician level. Job class selection will be based on the education and experience of the applicant.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Public Works Facility at 1600 Prairie Drive, Medina, MN 55340, and remote as job duties require. There is no public transportation to the facility in Medina. During construction season, this position will work at various Hennepin County sites or in the office, and hybrid during the winter season as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including occasional nights, weekends, and holidays with overtime. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.
