Position Summary
The Department of Behavioral Sciences and Criminal Justice at Minot State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of psychology to begin August 2025. Our psychology program is an undergraduate baccalaureate program designed to give students a broad-based knowledge of the areas of psychology and to prepare them for graduate study. Many of our psychology courses are service courses for other departments such as nursing, teacher education, and communication disorders. Servicing other department students enriches the diversity of discussion and our psychology students’ knowledge of how psychology interfaces with other disciplines.
The faculty member will provide didactic teaching in both traditional face-to face and in the on-line environment. In addition to teaching courses, faculty members advise students, provide service to the department, university, and community, and produce scholarship.
Minimum Qualifications
The position is tenure track with a nine-month contract. The successful candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in psychology. ABD candidates will be considered if the doctoral requirements will be completed by August 2025.
Preferred Qualifications
Any specialty area of psychology will be considered with preference given to those who have expertise in developmental psychology, have demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate courses, and demonstrated a commitment to undergraduate research.
