The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with leadership potential and proven academic performance. Werfen hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
Position Description
The Intern will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the Legal and Compliance teams, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Assisting with routine contract generation on company templates; learning about contract review and negotiation strategies, and assisting with such review and negotiation.
- Working with contract management tools and databases;
- Researching legal issues and questions, as directed by the Assistant General Counsel;
- Becoming acquainted with corporate compliance policies and related processes; and
- Assisting with any other departmental projects and initiatives as needed.
Key Attributes
- Requires confidence in using Microsoft Word and Excel tools, as well as tools for legal research.
- Requires enthusiasm, motivation, initiative and ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability; creativity and flexibility to find solutions in a practical and efficient manner
- Assistance in creating, reviewing and maintaining department files.
- Ability to multitask.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree, preferably in pre-law discipline with a minimum of 2 college semesters complete.
