Administrative Program Coordinator

Office of Academic Affairs

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

Provides administrative assistance in support of the operational activities of the Office of Academic Affairs. Serves as receptionist and manages all front desk duties. Responsibilities include meeting planning and catering, ordering office supplies and maintaining detailed financial records related to these tasks. Also responsible for databases that track sabbaticals and promotion and tenure cases. Manages the physical faculty files. Processes invoices and reimbursements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact courteously with a customer service orientation toward all individuals
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently without constant supervision

Required Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience including experience using various computer software, such as word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and experience working in an academic setting preferred
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferred. Experience using Filemaker database software is preferred

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
