THE ROLE
Matific is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to own the data function. This will include developing and maintaining the data infrastructure as well as leading the BI and data engineering function. This is largely a hands-on position and includes leading a small team. Matific is looking for someone who is incredibly smart, passionate, talented and simply gets stuff done. Given the scale-up nature of the company, you will need to be flexible and inventive in the delivery of your strategy. This role will be based in Sri Lanka. Our data infrastructure is fully AWS cloud based.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
Excellent communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills in English
Passion for data and an attention to detail
Self-starter with 'can-do' attitude in a dynamic work environment
8+ years of experience in data architecture or in a data related role.
In depth knowledge in AWS, Linux, SQL, Python, and Latest Database trends
Previous experience with streaming data pipelining tools such as Kafka is an added advantage.
Deep knowledge of SQL query performance optimization
Understanding in AI and ML concepts is an added advantage
