Bachelor's degree. Four years of professional experience in agenda coordination, office management, technical writing, public relations or a related field are required.
This position resides in the Department of Transportation and Public Works, Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs Division. The position plays a dynamic role in supporting the department’s operations through policy and legislative research and analysis. The incumbent will also assist with the management of the department’s intra- and inter-departmental agenda coordination processes, performing quality control of agenda items to ensure rules of procedure and legislative compliance, including procurement policies and procedures, and facilitating the placement of items on the appropriate committee and County Commission agendas. The position plays a key role in liaising with internal and external partners, including oversight entities, to achieve departmental objectives, and coordinates with the County Attorney's and Mayor's Offices during the annual state legislative session and annual state project appropriations process. The position will also support the department’s federal earmark efforts.
